You can look better without lighting up!
Look Your Age
Smoking produces free radicals that affect the gene that causes the breakdown of elastin and collagen. Without sufficient collagen for renewal, the skin gradually loses its elasticity and becomes dry and wrinkly. Even worse, smokers tend to have wrinkles that extend beyond the area that these would occur in the normal ageing process.
Let Your Skin Breathe
The carbon monoxide from a single cigarette reduces the amount of oxygen that is circulated to the skin. This means that a smoker’s skin receives less oxygen and nutrients. Smoking also causes blood vessels to be constricted.
So this is why smokers seem to have duller complexions.
Tooth Story
You may already know that smoking can stain teeth. As time goes by, the staining spreads deeper into the tooth enamel, making it extremely difficult to remove. Eventually, your teeth will become permanently stained. And, bad breath aside, smokers are also more likely to suffer from gum disease which gives rise to unsightly and unhealthy-looking teeth and gums.
